On Saturday, May 14, Ascension St. Vincent and the Randolph County YMCA will hold a Health Fair and a Healthy Kids Carnival. The Health Fair will take place at the YMCA building on Highway 32 East of Winchester. It runs from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. It will feature several informational booths and various types of health screenings. There will be blood pressure checks, skin cancer screenings, blood glucose screenings, bone density screenings, and pulmonary function screenings. There will also be a booth from the Purdue Extension Office of Randolph County that will provide information on the many classes and programs they will be offering. This is a great opportunity to receive screenings that may detect health issues that you may be unaware of having. These screenings could even potentially save your life.

The gymnasium at the YMCA will also be the site for a Healthy Kids Carnival. This carnival will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until Noon. There will be many activities and games for elementary aged, and younger children. There will also be information on child safety available. Organizations that will have booths at the Healthy Kids Carnival are the Winchester Police Department, the Winchester Fire Department, Purdue Extension of Randolph County, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and Randolph County Recycling.

Modoc Gardens will be on hand with balloon creations for the kids. Refresh, a Winchester business that offers a wide variety of healthy beverages will be present at both events. So if you’re looking for something healthy, fun, and educational to do on Saturday morning, stop in at the YMCA. You may learn something interesting, and it could even end up saving your life.
