Randolph Southern Rebels

(NG) – Randolph Southern moved back to the win column after defeating the Lady Rockets Tuesday 47-31.

Six Lady Rebels helped put 19 first quarter points on the scoreboard. Kaibre Stephan was responsible for eight of those points but got scoring help from Courtney Clear, Colleen Ledbetter, Brianna Smith, Mia Saylor, and Lilly Parrett.

Union struggled offensively in the first getting two points each from Taryn Armour and Glory Ellis and a free throw from Honour Ellis.

Stephan, Clear, and Ledbetter put together 12 more points in the second quarter.

Armour, Kaitlyn Holderman, and Glory Ellis put seven more points on Union’s score card.

Honour Ellis and Armour scored in the third, but Union was unable to make a dent in the Rebel lead.

Ledbetter, Clear, Smith, Alyssa Allen, and Alexis Shumaker scored in the second half for Randolph Southern, and even though Armour, Honour Ellis, and Zoe Ogden scored 13 fourth quarter points for the Rockets, the game was out of reach.

The Rebels gave their home crowd a 47-31 victory. Stephan led with 13 points followed by Ledbetter with 11. Smith scored eight points, Clear added six, Allen and Saylor had three points each, Shumaker had two points, and Parrett one point.

Union was led by Armour with 15 points. Honour Ellis added seven points, Ogden and Glory Ellis had four points each, and Holderman had one point.

Union (1-2) hosts Cowan on Tuesday, and Randolph Southern (4-3) hosts South Adams on Saturday.
