Lanter cards 80, Lawrence 85 to lead Winchester

Winchester’s girls’ golf team

played at the top of its game on Saturday,

perfect timing to claim second

place at the IHSAA Muncie Central

Golf Sectional earning the Lady Falcons

a spot at the Lapel Golf Regional.

Winchester was led by Nevaeh

Lanter, second low medalist for the

tournament with a score of 80, one

stroke short of Delta’s Belle Brown.

Morgan Lawrence shot an 85 for

the Falcons, tied for sixth place individually.

Ruthie Rose and Audrey Black

each shot 100 rounding out the score

of 365 for Winchester. Mabrey McIntire

shot a 106.

Monroe Central placed eighth in

the tournament. The Lady Bears were

led by Audrey Stoops who shot a 105

and Lydia Price who shot a 106.

Randolph Southern was in 10th

place. The Lady Rebels were led by

seniors Amber Johnson (107) and

Haley Hinshaw (109).

Blue River’s Maci Chamberlin

(83) and Yorktown’s Leah Miller (89)

and Grace Finley (92), advancing as

individuals, will join Winchester at

the regional. The Lapel Regional will

take place on Saturday at the Edgewood

Golf Club with a 9:00 start.
