The Indiana Department of Health has selected Randolph County for a mobile vaccine clinic this week. Eligibility for the vaccine is expected to be 60 and over will be announced soon.
The Randolph County Health Department will have its clinic at Husted Hall on Wednesday 2/24/2021 and the State will run a clinic at the fairgrounds on Thursday, Feb. 25 through Saturday, Feb. 27. The State’s clinic will be able to provide more than 500 immunizations on each of the three days that they will be here. They will return in three weeks to administer second doses.
The Randolph County Health Department has been administering the Moderna vaccine. The State, however, will be administering the Pfizer vaccine. If you receive your immunization from the State’s mobile clinic, you will need to get your second dose from them in three weeks. At this time it is necessary to receive the two immunizations from the same manufacturer.
Appointments can be made at ourshot.in.gov. We expect scheduling access to start on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
Randolph County Health Officer Dr. Kenneth Sowinski encourages Randolph County residents to take advantage of the opportunity.
“If you have previously been eligible, or if you are age 60 or older, we encourage you to take advantage of this incredible opportunity this week,” he said.
