The Randolph County YMCA Childcare has opened a new location in Union City, IN and they are currently enrolling ages 6 weeks to 6 years of age. This new facility is very exciting because as Ceann Bales, CEO has stated on the YMCA website “The Y is for youth development because we believe that all kids deserve opportunities to discover who they are and what they can achieve. That’s why, through the Y, youth today is cultivating the values, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, and educational achievement.” Union City has needed a licensed Childcare Center for some time and the YMCA is excited to bring a safe and educational place for children to learn and grow.
This new center features four classrooms each tailored to a specific age of children. Teachers plan weekly lesson plans even in the infant room that engage children in a variety of learning activities. Each room has ten core centers that are designed to encourage development, they consist of math, science, writing, art, motor manipulatives, music, dramatic play, sensory, blocks, and small motor skills. There is also an onsite kitchen where all meals are prepared so as a parent you do not have to pack food for your child. Studies show that children who attend quality childcare are more successful in life which is what the YMCA is providing to the community.
One of the best parts about the new childcare is not only are the children learning but they are also having fun! There are so many new toys for children to discover when they walk through the doors of the childcare and the teachers are not there to just “watch” them. The teachers are sitting on the floor and playing with the children encouraging their imaginations and social skills. In the 3 to the 5-year room, there is even a play grocery store set up with a working conveyor belt. The children love to pretend like they are shopping and selling food to their friends, it is even fun for the adults too.
The Randolph County YMCA Union City Childcare is a safe and loving place to take your children. Each staff member is trained in child development, CPR, First aid, Safe Sleep and they provide the best care possible for every child in their room. The childcare is locked by security doors, so no one is allowed to enter a classroom without access. As a parent, you can be at ease leaving your child there while you work because they are safe and loved.
Along with providing great care to your children, the YMCA also wants to support the whole family so any family who has a child enrolled in full-time care receives a free family membership to the Randolph County YMCA. They can use this membership to play basketball in the gym, attend a fitness class, or to work-out in their newly remodeled fitness rooms. Also, for September the Union City is running a special on childcare rates to any family who enrolls. If you enroll this month your first week of childcare is free and there is no registration fee.
If you are interested in enrolling your children feel free to stop by anytime between 6:30 am and 5:30 pm for more information. The childcare director and staff would love to give you a tour of the facility and provide you with a registration packet. They also have different financial assistance programs to help parents afford safe quality childcare.
