Randolph Southern traveled to Wes-Del for its first conference game of the season on Friday night and took from the Warriors a 41-18 victory.

The Lady Rebels got scoring from seven players to help with the offensive part of the game. Kaibre Stephan led the way with 11 points, seven of those in the fourth quarter.

Senior Jewelia Austin and freshman Brianna Smith got Southern started. Austin’s seven points and Smith’s four points gave the Rebels an 11-2 lead in the first eight minutes.

The Lady Warriors fought back in the second quarter outscoring the Rebels 5-3.

Coach Jerimy Stephan’s team extended its 14-7 lead in the third quarter. Grace Watson scored six of the Rebels’ 10 points, and Wes-Del was held to just six points.

The fourth quarter belonged to Southern. The Lady Rebels exploded for 17 points and held the Warriors to just five.

“We have to continue to get better and be consistent throughout the whole game,” commented Coach Stephan.

Although the Lady Rebels were glad to come out with the win, it wasn’t without damage. Austin rolled her ankle in the fourth quarter and was out of action in the Lady Rebels’ loss to Union City on Saturday night.
