Monroe Central harvested another helmet Friday night, its eighth in a row, with a resounding 38-0 victory over Mid-Eastern Conference rival Wes-Del.
It was the second shutout of the season for the Golden Bears, whose only loss was a 31-14 setback on Sept. 18 toClass A No. 1-ranked SouthAdams. The Bears are now 3-1.
There was never a doubt in this affair as junior quarterback Jackson Ullom put on a near-flawless performance at quarterback and Luke Jones caught six passes for 125 yards. The Bears also had 207 yards running the football and amassed 425 total yards for the game.
Ullom completed 13 of 15 passes for 218 yards and threw a pair of touchdown passes, one to Jones and one to Joel Kennedy. His quarterback rating for the game was 166.8.
Four different Bears ran for more than 30 yards in the game with Josiah Ullom scampering for 52 yards and scoring a touchdown. Jones also had a rushing touchdown as did Gavin Smithson-Burciaga.
Mitchell Moles led the Bears with 17 total tackles. Caden Snyder had 13 tackles and Khaner Phillips had 10 tackles. Joel Kennedy had a fumble recovery.
The Bears now prepare for a tough test against Eastern Hancock on Friday.
