A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house were held Wednesday evening September 7 at the Deep Roots Salon & Spa’s new location at 110 West Pearl Street in Winchester. The salon recently completed renovations to the basement of their new location, a former bank, and one time tire center.
Salon owner Merissa Tippett and her husband opened the new location in April and have been working to improve it since. The renovations are not complete, they are hoping to make the basement handicapped accessible in the near future. The basement will be known as the “Roots Room” and has seating for up to 80 guests with internet, full kitchen, restrooms and a 65 inch television. It’s just right for small weddings, graduations, family reunions, birthday parties, office parties, and especially business meetings. The room can be rented for $100 or hourly for $25 per hour with a two hour minimum. There is an additional $25 fee if additional setup is required.
The Tippetts are friends with Eric Hanlin, the owner of Hoosier Q Daddy BBQ. They have an arrangement where if you book your event in the Roots Room and have it catered by Hoosier Q Daddy, you will receive a discount from the regular price menu.
Many attended the event, where they chatted with the owners and stylists, snacked on cookies, cake, brownies, and punch and signed up for the gift basket drawing. Three gift baskets were given away, one for a woman, one for a man, and one for a child. The baskets contained items varying from snacks, to hair care products, to movies, to gift certificates for hair cuts and massages at the salon.
The Tippetts look forward to providing a venue for people to hold their many special events for years to come. They can be contacted by phone at 765-584-7668, by e-mail at DeepRoots012@outlook.com they are also on Facebook. Hoosier Daddy Q BBQ owner Eric Hanlin may be reached at 765-748-6077.
