On June 6, 2019 at approximately 1:43 pm Darke County Deputies along with Arcanum Fire and Rescue responded to the intersection of State Route 49 and Hollansburg-Sampson Road on a reported two vehicle minor injury crash.
Preliminary investigation revealed a Tan 2003 Buick Century driven by Louise Sando 84, of Arcanum was traveling westbound on Hollansburg-Sampson Road and stopped at the intersection of State Route 49, and then started to pull into the intersection and struck a camper being pulled by a White 1996 Freightliner truck driven by Christopher Clark 53, of Liberty Kentucky. Sando was treated and released at the scene, and Mr. Clark and passenger were uninjured.
On June 7th, 2019 at approximately 4:41 a.m. Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Township Fire Department and Greenville Township Rescue were dispatched to the 6300 block of Requarth Road in reference to an accident with injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed a blue 2006 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Christopher Jones, 26, of Greenville was traveling East on Requarth Road near Westfall Road. Mr Jone failed to maintain control traveling off the right side of the roadway and coming to rest after striking a tree. Mr Jones was transported to Wayne ER by Greenville Township Rescue and was later transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Miami Valley MICU.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 8, 2019 at approximately 12:16 pm, Darke County Deputies along with New Madison Fire and Tri Village Rescue, responded to the 800 Block of SR 121 in reference to a single vehicle accident. Preliminary investigation revealed a 1993 Chevrolet truck, driven by Hillarie Frech (27) of New Paris, was traveling north on SR 121. The vehicle crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the roadway striking a guardrail. Ms. Frech was transported to Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana where her condition is unknown.
While emergency crews were on the scene, a southbound Honda Accord, driven by Jason Hunt (26) of New Paris, traveled off the roadway near the accident scene. Mr. Hunt nearly missed emergency vehicles prior to traveling off the roadway.
Mr. Hunt refused treatment on the scene and was cited for failing to maintain reasonable control of his motor vehicle. The first accident remains under investigation.
On June 10, 2019, at approximately 10:11 am, Darke County Deputies along with New Madison Fire and Tri-Village Rescue, responded to the intersection of U.S. 127 and U.S. 36 West in reference to an injury-accident. Preliminary investigation revealed a blue 2007 Honda Odyssey driven by Katherine Coffman (27) of Greenville was stopped at the stop sign on U.S. 36 West waiting to turn North onto U.S. 127. Randall Liette (62) of Greenville was traveling South on U.S. 127 at U.S. 36 West. Mrs. Coffman failed to yield the right of way to Mr. Liette causing Mr. Liette to strike Mrs. Coffman.
Mrs. Coffman and her two juvenile children were treated and released at the scene by Tri-Village Rescue. Mr. Liette was transported to Wayne Healthcare for minor injuries. This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
