SEPTEMBER 17

On September 17, 2019 at approximately 6:27 a.m. Darke County Deputies along with Arcanum Fire and Rescue, responded to the intersection of State Route 49 and Delisle Fourman Road on a reported one vehicle injury accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black 1990 Ford Mustang driven by Corey Facemeire 29, of Greenville was traveling Eastbound on Delisle Fourman Road and failed to stop at the intersection of State Route 49 traveling off the left side of the roadway and struck a guide wire to a utility pole and then traveled back across Delisle Fourman Road off the right side of the roadway colliding with a fence and two parked vehicles on private property.

Facemeire was treated for minor injuries and release at the scene.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

SEPTEMBER 23

On September 23, 2019 at 4:42 p.m. Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Tri Village Rescue and New Madison Fire Department responded to the intersection of State Route 121 and Harter road on a two vehicle injury accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2002 Maroon Honda Silver wing, driven by James Sarver (68), of New Madison, was traveling north on State Route 121. Mr. Sarver slowed to a stop in traffic to wait on oncoming southbound traffic, to make a left turn onto Harter road. A 2001 Blue Buick Le Sebre, driven by Kimberly Stigler (48), of Greenville, was traveling north as well on State Route 121. Ms. Stigler failed to see Mr. Sarver stopped in traffic, and struck his vehicle in the rear, ejecting Mr. Sarver off of the motorcycle. Mr. Sarver was taken Wayne Hospital by Tri Village rescue where he is listed in stable condition. Ms. Stigler was uninjured.

This accident remains under investigation.

SEPTEMBER 24

On September 24, 2019 at 6:20 a.m. Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Osgood Rescue and Osgood Fire Department responded to the 13600 block of Yorkshire-Osgood Road on an injury accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2000 Silver Chevrolet Tracker driven by, Michael Kesler (40), of Bradford, was traveling North on Yorkshire-Osgood Road. The driver traveled off of the right side of the roadway, striking a mailbox. The driver then over-corrected the vehicle returning to the roadway, before driving off of the left side of the roadway, and over turning. Mr. Kesler was taken to Wayne Hospital by Osgood Rescue to be seen for minor injuries.

This accident remains under investigation.

On September 24, 2019 at approximately 7:31 a.m. Darke County Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Arcanum Bears Mill Road and Folkerth Road in reference to a minor accident involving two vehicles.

Preliminary investigation revealed a red 2007 Toyota Yaris driven by Brian Castro 18, of Arcanum was traveling southbound on Arcanum Bears Mill Road approaching the intersection of Folkerth Road.  Castro’s vehicle was struck by a unknown vehicle traveling eastbound on Folkerth Road approaching a posted stop sign at Arcanum Bears Mill Road. The unknown vehicle fled the scene. Castro’s vehicle left the roadway and overturned several times before coming to rest in a field. Witnesses on scene stated the unknown vehicle did not stop at the posted stop sign.

Castro was transported from the scene by Arcanum Rescue to Wayne Healthcare for an evaluation where he was later released.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
