Love Lights a Tree

helps to fight cancer

By BILL RICHMOND

City editor

Love Lights a Tree, an annual program sponsored by the American Cancer Society, provides a way to recognize loved ones while helping in the fight against cancer.

With each contribution, a colored ball or ornament will be placed on a tree in the lobby of MutualBank, Winchester. Each honoree, or in the case of a memorial gift, the honoree's family, will be notified of the gift made in their name. The names of honorees will be posted on a special board beside the tree.

For the donation of $3, a white ball will be placed on the tree; for $5, a green ball will be added to the tree; for $10, a red ball; for each donation of $25 and up, a gold ball will be added; and for $50 and up, an angel will be placed on the tree.

Proceeds from this event will support the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Randolph County.

The Love Lights tree is at the 110 W. Pearl St., MutualBank location, but contributions may be made there or at the 870 E. Washington St., branch. Donations may also be mailed to the American Cancer Society, 1216 Meridian, Anderson, Ind., 46016. Checks should be made payable to the American Cancer Society. All contributions are tax deductible.
