Police cite

semi-truck driver

Union City, Ind. Police cited David Johns, 44, Sheridan, Ind., for failure to yield in the accident that occurred at State Line and Deerfield Rd. at 7:42 a.m., Monday.

According to the police, the semi truck driven by Johns was east-bound on Deerfield when the driver ran a stop sign and turned north on State Line. A van driven by Mary Young, 42, Union City, Ohio, was southbound on the State Line and hit the semi.

Young was careflighted to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. A passenger in her van, Peggy Hart, 52, Ft. Recovery, Ohio, was taken by the Union City, Ohio ambulance to Wayne Hospital in Greenville.
