An informational meeting regarding the Winchester Main Street streetscape project is Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Beeson Community Building, Winchester. Plans for the project will be on display and project engineers will be present to answer questions. The contractor and designer will be available for comment.
The meeting will be co-hosted by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and the City of Winchester. The meeting will give businesses and residents an opportunity to view construction plans and learn about project features.
INDOT officials said the meeting will be conducted in an informal format, allowing ample time for questions and conversations.
The Main Street project is due to begin next month, starting at South Street and ending north of Pearl Street. Once pavement removal begins, North Main will be completely closed to traffic. The scope of the project calls for full-depth pavement replacement and new storm sewers, curbs, gutters and sidewalks.
LICA Construction Corporation of Berne is general contractor for the project.
The Beeson Community Building is located at 900 Beeson Drive.
