Falcons fall to Union County

Winchester's golf team dropped a 198-213 decision Thursday against Union County at Winchester Golf Club.

The Patriots' Jordan Sparks was low medalist with a 40, just one stroke ahead of Winchester's Shantel Short with a 41.

Other scores for the Falcons were Sara Neville with 49, Janelle Yaryan with 54, and Mylie Winger, Bridgette Moystner and Ashley Lahey with 69.

The Falcons (0-4 in TEC play) travel to Jay County on Tuesday.

Rocket golfers win one, lose one in first match

Union's first-ever golf match resulted in a split decision against two Ohio schools.

The Rockets had low medlaist in the meet with Anna Solmell carding a 46 and Marie Lumpkin close behind with a 50.

Ansonia finished with a 209 team score with the Rockets at 240 and MIssissinawa Valley at 273.

Union plays Tuesday at Winchester.
