Katelyn Wallin's entry called "Sweetheart's Dress" won the best-of-show award in the Randolph County Student Art Show now on display at the Art Depot in Union City. The show continues through Friday, May 9, and, in a tribute to the late Terri Martin, visitors will have a chance to pick their favorite entry.

The people's choice award in Martin's name is new this year, and it is sponsored by the Randolph Southern Student Council. Martin was the art teacher at Randolph Southern.

Wallin would like to work in fashion design, especially wedding dresses. She is already creating one-of-a-kind dresses and doing alterations.

The best-of-show award is sponsored by Community First Bank.

Another Monroe Central student, Cody Reun won the Mildred Whitesel Watercolor Award, sponsored by Linda Black and family, for his watercolor entry called "What a Peach."
