Winchester resident Brent Campbell is running for the Republican nomination for County Board of Commissioners Middle District seat.
"I would like to get involved and provide the county with knowledge I have obtained while working with various other counties throughout the state," Campbell said. "I would like to try and develop economic growth that will benefit the entire community and help our county run as efficiently as possible.
"I want to make our community a place my children can be proud of, developing opportunities for economic growth and helping to slow the brain drain so young people don't have to seek work outside the county."
Campbell graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor of science degree in natural resources - land management option with a major emphasis in GIS. He has 11 years experience working with government in Marion, Clinton, Delaware, Adams, Henry and Randolph counties. He is a level 1 assessor, due to complete the requirements for level 2 status this summer.
He is the owner of GIS Product Solutions, Inc., which provides data conversion and creation, application development, project management and needs assessment resources for area businesses.
Born and raised in Winchester, Campbell is married with three children ages six, three and six months.
"I feel this is an ideal community to raise our family," he said. "I want to strive to keep it that way while helping it continue to grow."
