Audiologist to move into bigger office

By BILL RICHMOND

City editor

Business has been good enough for the downtown Winchester office of Hometown Hearing and Audiology to justify moving to a larger facility. Audiologist Ken Madler expects to move from his current office at 115 S. Main St., one space north to 113 S. Main St., the former optometry office operated for many years by the late Dr. Steven Peden.

"My anticipated move in date is the first of November," Madler said. "Hopefully if I get my renovations done in time, I'll be ready to set up then. I plan to have a big grand opening November 30 - the night they have the Christmas walk."

Madler said he will use the rest of this month to get the word out to local residents about the upcoming move.

"I need to move to have have more space to accommodate growth and to provide more privacy for patients," he said. "I've outgrown this space although it's served me wonderfully. I've got four solid years under my belt, I'm starting my fifth year so I've already beat a lot of odds. I just have to have more space to display the items people have to have to access to."

He said if the business continues to grow, he would like to hire a receptionist and expand services somewhat .

Services provided by Hometown Hearing include: diagnostic hearing tests; ear drum testing; hearing aid sales, service, repairs, demonstrations and consultations; amplified telephones and doorbells; custom headsets or ear buds; and basically any sort of hearing-related accessories.

"I'm really looking forward to the move," Madler said.
