RC Tech Task Force, Randolph

Eastern offer computer classes

By BILL RICHMOND

City editor

The Randolph County Technology Task Force and Randolph Eastern School Corporation will co-sponsor adult computer courses during March, April and May. The courses will be held at Union City Community High School and are open to Randolph Eastern patrons and Randolph County residents.

"Computer and technology education has been one of our major goals," said Technology Task Force Coordinator Doug Goodman. "To partner with the school corporation gets more people involved in the process."

Enrollment is limited to the first 25 people to register for each instructional series. Randolph Eastern patrons will have priority when making reservations.

The classes will meet Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the high school media center. The media center is to the right, just inside the UCCHS main entrance. The March class sessions are for beginners, the April classes are for intermediates and the May group is for advanced computer users.

The program costs $20 for four Tuesday sessions in each month or a total of $60 for all three months. Payment will be made directly to the instructor, not to Randolph Eastern Schools or UCCHS.

Goodman said the Randolph County Technology Task Force hopes to establish computer classes in other parts of the county by partnering with school corporations such as Randolph Southern and Monroe Central.

"This is just the beginning of what will hopefully become a county-wide trend in community computer education," Goodman said.
